Coppertone Water Babies Pure & Simple SPF 50 Quick Review:
First off, this sunscreen is meant for babies but Tanny Mangino has been using it quite frequently because his mom gave it to him for free. He now knows why she gave it to him for free. Admittedly, this sunscreen is particularly strong and durable in protecting you from a sunburn. However, Coppertone Water Babies Pure & Simple SPF 50 is sorely lacking in the the application department. While application issues may be due to the fact that the sunscreen is designed to offer maximum protection for babies, the sunscreen is overly thick. Sometimes the application felt as though you were are applying paint to your skin. In addition, Coppertone Water Babies Pure & Simple leaves a visible white film over your skin after application. The white film becomes even more apparent after you go in the water or have been sweating.

Protection (4/5):
There’s a reason Tanny started calling the Coppertone Water Babies Pure & Simple sunscreen “The Paint” every time he used it. With this sunscreen the saying, “a little bit goes a long way”, definitely applies. So much so that you had to be careful every time you squirted some out of the bottle, for fear you would end up looking like you had clown makeup on. Overall, the result of the thickness was above average sun protection that did not wear off easily, even after a trip into the water or from sweating.

Coppertone Water Babies Pure & Simple was particularly difficult to apply. I can’t imagine anyone having to rub their delicate and extremely young offspring as hard as was required to get this sunscreen to rub all the way in. Many times, Tanny had to request the assistance of the “ultimate bro favor” in the application of this sunscreen. Even Tanny’s super-tan friends struggled getting the sunscreen to rub across his back. If it’s hard for a male in their late twenties to rub sunscreen onto someone, then it’s probably not the best sunscreen product, even if it was designed for babies.
Affordability (2/5)
Coming in at around $12 for an 8 ounce bottle, Coppertone Water Babies Pure & Simple fits in the mid-range to somewhat expensive sunscreen category. Since there are a number of appealing alternatives at cheaper prices (with comparative levels of active ingredients) this sunscreen doesn’t stand out as a good deal. Now if your mom gives you a bottle for free, then that’s another story completely!
